Learn guitar in reps,
not lessons.

Guitar Reps listens to your guitar through your phone and grades every chord you play โ€” which string is dead, which change is too slow, when you've actually got it. Not a video you nod along to. A coach that can hear you.

Start playing tonight

Takes about 20 seconds. Then you're straight into lesson one.

Free forever to practise. We don't sell your details, and we won't ask for a card to get started.

Every other app is guessing

They show you a chord diagram and take your word for it. Guitar Reps doesn't have to take your word for anything.

๐ŸŽค It hears the actual strings

Hold a C and the app tells you the B string is muted โ€” because it heard six strings and only five rang. That one sentence is the difference between practising and practising wrong for a month.

โฑ It counts your changes

Sixty seconds, G to C, back and forth. The number goes up every week and it's the single best predictor of whether you'll be able to play real songs. Nothing else about beginner guitar is this measurable.

๐ŸŽต It plays along with you

Real songs at real tempo, bar by bar, scored as you go. You're not strumming into silence โ€” you're playing with a band that knows when you fall behind.

๐ŸŽฏ Tuner, chords, drills โ€” all listening

A proper needle tuner, a chord trainer that lights up the dead strings, and rep timers. Same microphone, same honesty, all included.

The Path

24 steps from "I've never held one" to playing Sweet Home Alabama. In order, each one unlocked by the last. No wall you can't skip.

1
Tune up ยท meet the six strings Before you play a note. Two minutes.
3
Em โ€” your first chord Two fingers. That's genuinely the whole thing.
6
Play A Horse With No Name A record you know, ~20 minutes in, on two chords.
13
Play Knockin' on Heaven's Door Em ยท Am ยท D ยท G โ€” the four that play most songs ever written.
16
F without the barre The chord that ends most beginners, done with three fingers instead.
18
Play Let It Be C ยท G ยท Am ยท Fmaj7. From here the whole library opens up.
23
The benchmark: 30 changes a minute Halfway to a competent beginner, and a real milestone.
24
Graduation: Sweet Home Alabama Clear it and you're not a beginner โ€” you're a guitarist with a repertoire.

Straight answers

What do I need?

A guitar, a phone or laptop, and one earbud โ€” so you can hear the app while its microphone listens to you. Acoustic or electric both work. No cables, no interface, nothing to install.

Is it really free?

Yes. The Path, the songs, the tuner and the chord trainer are free to practise with, and we don't ask for a card to start. If we ever add a paid tier it'll be for extras โ€” what's here now stays free for people who signed up early.

Why do you want my phone number?

Practice reminders, and only if you leave that box ticked. The reason people don't learn guitar is almost never talent โ€” it's that the guitar sat in the corner for nine days. A text is the cheapest fix anyone's found. Reply STOP and it stops.

I've tried apps before and quit.

Most beginner apps can't tell whether you played the chord or not, so they can't tell you the one thing you need to hear. Getting a real "that's clean" from something that actually heard you is a different experience from tapping a button that says "got it."

Do I need to read music?

No. There's no notation anywhere in the app. Chord shapes, timing, and your own ears.

Your guitar is right there.

Twenty minutes from now you could be playing an actual record.
